He was about seven years old when he rushed into the house and ran to his room to get some of his saved cash.
"Mom? Can I go to the garage sale?" (One of our neighbors were having a sale.)
"Okay. Watch out for cars on the road!"
He ran out the door and when he came back he was holding something behind his back.
"I have something for you, Mom!"
This beautiful pin is what he brought home for me.
It's my Kris Pin. It has a few sparkles missing but you could have probably found them in my eyes that happy day.
Sharing the beauty of the mountains, the harsh cold, the mosquitoes, the love of being here, anything Alaskan, with pictures and words.

Very sweet! It is a beautiful pin with a very beautiful story. I can just see the excitement in his eyes with this great gift that he found for his sweet mother. Thank God for garage sales.
I didn't do show and tell this week, not feeling very well but getting better.
What a lovely story and what a great kid…
Louise

Just like a boy, a "jeweled"
BUG pin for his mom. It was
such a sweet thing he did.
You are a lucky lady to have
such a great son!
At first I thought you were going to auction this beautiful bug off. It is so pretty and would match my handbag, but the story that followed just melted my shopping heart. Thanks for sharing.
Now there's a real man. Kris must have a good Daddy to emulate. I love the color of the pin's main stone.
My son brought me potted red tulips AND he called me on my birthday recently. He's a good kid too don't you think? :~D
Cute pin and precious son!!! You are blessed.
Susan
precious...I love little boys and the way they are so sweet to their mammas sometimes. I only have two...wish I had more. I have some great girls though *U*
I love your pin- 'specially because of the darling story behind it. I have gotten a few "garage sale" gifts myself. Wear it with pride mamma!
