You have some excellent t...I love the book of John! You have some excellent thoughts here. (Sorry you cried when the moose was slain. What an excellent object lesson, though.)

"Without the shedding of blood, there is no forgiveness of sins." Scripture also tells us "the life is in the blood." The shedding of blood symbolizes the loss of life. Death is the due penalty for sin. (We all deserve capital punishment.) With Moses, God required blood sacrifices to "cover" sin, but they never never "washed away" sin. They were a "type" or a "shadow" of things to come in Jesus Christ. (Hebrews) Only the blood of the sinless Messiah/Christ could take God's wrath for all mankind, and provide the forgiveness we so desperately need.

God provided his own Son as the perfect sacrifice, just as He did for Abraham who was willing to offer up his "only" son, Isaac. God provided a ram caught in the thicket, and Abraham received Isaac back alive, as a "type" of Jesus' resurrection.

So God answers his own legal requirements, by providing the solution to the problem Himself! "By grace through faith you have been saved... it is a gift of God..." He's awesome, isn't He?

I've preached myself happy! Have a blessed day. :~)Susannahhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12090290482455881323noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8459417.post-42533998959532580722007-09-12T17:04:00.000-08:002007-09-12T17:04:00.000-08:00I have also been reading through the book of John ...I have also been reading through the book of John recently. I have a little pamphlet of the book of John so it is handy to pull out whenever I have to be waiting in line someplace. I saw a young man recite the whole book a couple of years ago. He made the book come alive so I've been so interested in reading it again and again since I saw him.
God's word is POWER!!mrsjojohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01176001574650712829noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8459417.post-11423084796806871702007-09-12T15:10:00.000-08:002007-09-12T15:10:00.000-08:00"Correction" my eyes are full of tearsSorry. conn..."Correction" my eyes are full of tears

Sorry. connie from TexasTO BECOMEhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01358989235076877037noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8459417.post-44020429025900743582007-09-12T15:09:00.000-08:002007-09-12T15:09:00.000-08:00Connie Marie, my eyes of full of tears and my hear...Connie Marie, my eyes of full of tears and my heart is overflowing, this was such a wonderful post. He was brutally beaten and tortured to death. I think that fact gets lost on people somehow, they try to sanitize the death of Christ. I can't imagine how Mary suffered, watching Him hang there, being treated that way! As a mom myself, trying to put myself in her shoes, the agony of that is something I don't even want to think about!

"Amazing love, how can it be?
That thou my God wouldst die for me!"

ConnieConstancehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15748558090320737035noreply@blogger.com
