Show and Tell Fridays - My Basket

Show and Tell
I was reminded that it's show and tell time again while I was visiting a friends blog this evening! Click on this image to visit Kelli - she hosts it.

I want to share the first ever basket that I just completed last week-end. I took a class with my daughters and we all made these baskets. It is a design by Jill Choate of Jill Choate Basketry here in Alaska. I really enjoyed the time with my daughters, the time with the other ladies weaving and now I am enjoying it in my home!

The antler is deer. It stands about 18 inches tall. Even though my fingers were so sore after the first day of working on it, I am still eager to try making another one.

Thanks for stopping by!

I really liked how this turned out and I can see you putting a feather or pussy willows in it.

Have you thought of that? (snicker snicker!)

WOW! I"ve never attempted basket weaving! This one is awesome due to the way you incorporated the antlers.
I'm all "atwitter" as I visit your blog! I think you're the first blogger I've communicated with from the great state of Alaska! Were you born there? I'm off to read the rest of your profile and visit more posts on your blog just to "get to know you a little better"! Hope that alright! Oh and thanks for your sweet comment left on my blog. You're welcome to drop by anytime.

Hi there - thanks for stopping by my blog for my UNUSUAL show & tell (the words to the song Undo). And thank you for mentioning the problem with the link to the YouTube video. I have fixed it if you would like to swing back by to see the video. Thanks for bringing it to my attention.
Your blog is beautiful. And the sweetie at the top with the adorable smile made me smile. And your basket is wonderful. Good job!

Connie Marie, I'm so glad you shared your basket for Show and Tell. It is so beautiful. I hope you will make some more. There are lots of designs that are easier than this! You started with a really challenging design!
I love your new "window dressing" It really lightens up your site and shows your photos so much better. I'm right. Aren't I. I'm a colon, too. :)

A lovely basket!
My DH and I were blessed to visit Alaska a couple of summers ago and we loved it.
You left a comment on my blog that you have a friend who looks like my dad. Dad passed away almost 4 years ago, but it's fun to think he's got a twin somewhere.

Dear Connie. I think your blog is really nice. Well, if you need help with anything just ask me and i will help u out. Ive been doing this with some people. I agree with you about Arachno. I hate spiders too... But where i live, there are a lot of spiders,so I put arachno there so i'll get used to him. Im actually quite afraid to touch him even with my mouse. This is great. I hope you have a great day. Love, Joanna

WOW! That's a first attempt?! Incredible, with all the different colours in it too, and I loved the use of the antler. I have always wanted to learn basketry, and am finally going to a Day Course next week. I am SO excited, but I think my effort will be of a more straightforward design than yours . . .
