Orbs, Moods, Relationships and Favor

NBC's Today Show's topic while I watched this morning was marriage. Getting married too young to have marriages survive; getting married before a couple really knows how to relate to each other; getting married and finding out that maybe they just aren't made for each other after all - "When Is Too Young To Say I Do."

A few months back I was looking at some catalogs. A quick word about catalogs. I like to receive new catalogs from new places and I like to look at their merchandise. I always used get only cheap catalogs, I wondered why? Now I get top-notch catalogs! I learned that if you fill out a questionnaire online and they ask for your income level, click on the highest income on their list! They will sell your name to catalog places and if you "make lots of money" you will get the fanciest catalogs! I love it! I love looking at what the top-level-income consumers get in their mail. [ha]

Anyway, I was paging through a catalog (can't remember the name) and saw a stock market monitor orb for the coffee table or desktop. Chosen stock values rise and fall and the color of the orb changes. That sounds like a fun way to monitor anything! What a cool way to monitor our relationships with each other if we could find such a gadget.

I don't watch or work the stock market but I might be good at it if I learned how. Sometimes, I take a peek at the information for keeping track of stocks and I get lost.

This orb is being sold at Ambient Devices for $150.00 plus shipping.

[oops, lost my coffee, brb]

I looked around the web but found nothing but check out this list!

Nine Words Used By Women

1. "Fine."
This is the word women use to end an argument when they are right and you need to shut up.

2. "Five Minutes."
If she is getting dressed, this means a half an hour. Five minutes is only five minutes if you have just been given five more minutes to watch the game before helping around the house.

3. "Nothing."
This is the calm before the storm. This means something, and you should be on your toes. Arguments that begin with "nothing" usually end in "fine."

4. "Go Ahead!"
This is a dare, not permission. Don't do it!

5. [Loud Sigh]
This is actually a word; a non-verbal statement often misunderstood by men. A loud sigh means she thinks you are an [you add the less than attractive name here] and wonders why she is wasting her time standing here and arguing with you about nothing. (Refer back to #3 for the meaning of nothing.)

6. "That's Okay."
This is one of the most dangerous statements a women can make to a man. "That's okay" means she wants to think long and hard before deciding how and when you will pay for your mistake.

7. "Thanks!"
A woman is thanking you, do not question, or faint. Just say "You're welcome."

8. "Whatever!!"
Is a women's nice way of saying *bleep* YOU!!

9. "Don't worry about it, I got it."
Another dangerous statement, meaning this is something that a woman has told a man to do several times, but is now doing it herself. This will later result in a man asking "What's wrong?" For the woman's response refer to #3.

LOL that was fun.

What about those mood rings? I have worn them when outdoors and the ring will be blue because my hands are cold. Supposedly, if your body temps are functioning as they should different colors will reveal the mood that one should be in all the way from Black = tense, nervous, harassed, overworked to Purple = sensual, clarity and purpose is known.

I would not depend on a mood ring to monitor relationships, but they are fun to wear!

Mood lipstick!

One of the suggestions on the show was that when you do get ready be married you should really evaluate what you are looking for in a relationship. I didn't! I was looking for marriage. Confession: I got married because my body wanted to do things that were only acceptable to do in a marriage relationship. Period! When I was young we didn't have the accepted options of "try it on, see if it fits before you buy the shoe" or "why buy the cow if you are already drinking the milk." That is really crass, btw.

God wants us to do things right. If we say we know God (according to this website 77% (declining) of American adults say they do) , we should marry before we engage in relationships that our whole physical being is revealed to the other. I can't imagine to be left behind after one opens themselves up that much. Yes, I am talking about sex. This relationship is serious and having casual sex results in broken hearts and many times children become part of the equation and sadly in our world abortion is acceptable.

Unfortunately, there is no easy way to stay married and I didn't find any fantastic orb to help us! Being in love is beautiful. Deciding to stay in love is work --every day. Being loving is possible. It is possible to be together for life but you must choose to be there for your chosen one. Yes, temptations to stray from your decision to love this person do come along in life. So we learn to remain faithful, caring, loving, gentle and we work it out and decide again that yes, he/she is more important to me than that ... whatever that is.

God is favorable towards this and being married is a good thing. Having someone to go through life with, it's good! We learn not to be so selfish but to look out for someone else too.

From email:
Our last fight was my fault: My wife asked me "What's on the TV?" I said, "Dust"

From the Bible:
"He who finds a wife finds a good thing, and obtains favor from the Lord."
Proverbs 18:22

I was scared to death when I got married. It was the day before I turned 21 and I had no idea if I knew how to be married or not. My parents divorced when I was around 12. I was so afraid that I would do something wrong and end up divorced like them. Michael and I are both quiet, patient people so I guess that helps. We'll be married 15 years in about 4 weeks. I was afraid he wouldn't put up with me for 15 months!

Whatever the reasons you had for getting married, it turned out to be a very good thing! You've got wonderful kids who have given you adorable grandkids and, from the outside looking in, a very loving relationship with your husband!

What a yucky way to live but we all do some strange thinking at times. I was married when I was 19!

I agree, I do have wonderful kids. There is no other place I would rather be than right here with my family....well maybe in Hawaii with my family!
